Acrobatic Troupe
of the NTJCPA

On July 1, 1990, in order to promote folk arts, the Fu-hsing Academy established the Acrobatics Troupe. The first troupe leader was world-famous acrobatics master, Lee Tang-hua. Dr. Cheng Rom-Shing became the second leader of the troupe until he ascended to the presidency of the Fu-hsing Academy in March, 1998. Now the troupe is guided by Mr. Dante Law.

Most members of the group are the graduates of the Fu-hsing Academy. Some have graduated from Chinese Arts Training Center and the others come from Lee Tang-hua Arts Group. At this time, there are regularly 40 acrobats in the troupe, and each has been strictly trained for more than eight years. All of them are excellent on the stages, and their performances have been quite popular to the young and old.

The purpose of this troupe is to improve Chinese culture and develop the folk arts. Its acrobats have performed all around Taiwan at elementary and junior high schools, also to senior citizens and orphanages. They have de-lighted the local people wherever they visited. An especially warm welcome from the brave soldiers of Kinmen and Matsu Islands, when the troupe performed there.

Audiences in Europe, North America, Central America and Southeast Asia have also enjoyed the show of Fu-hsing Acrobatics Troupe. Besides entertaining the overseas Chinese in these locations, their performances have established strong friendship and caused cultural interchanges in these regions.

The troupe never satisfied with its accomplishments in the past years, but tried harder to promote greater skills in the folk arts. The performers hope that more and more people in all societies will appreciate and accept them. That is why they constantly refine their skills, create new plots and routines, and add new elements of artistic expressions. They also wish to move to artistry in the near future.
